Role Purpose
The Legal Officer provides professional legal services to the University, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations while safeguarding the institution’s legal interests. The role supports effective governance through sound legal advice, contract management, and representation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and guidance to management on institutional policies, contracts, and regulatory matters.
- Draft, review, and vet contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Represent the University in legal proceedings and liaise with external counsel where necessary.
- Support dispute resolution processes and manage legal risks proactively.
- Maintain accurate legal records and documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Barrister-at-Law (BL) qualification.
- Must be a qualified lawyer in good standing with the Ghana Bar Association.
- Minimum of six (6) years’ post-qualification experience at the Bar.
- Proven experience practicing within an institution of similar standing.
