Job Summary

The Senior Foreman – Crusher Plant leads and supervises crusher plant operations to ensure safe, efficient, and consistent production. The role focuses on achieving production targets, maintaining equipment performance, and enforcing safety and environmental standards while coordinating teams and resources effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and assign tasks to plant operators and attendants to ensure efficient operations
• Coordinate daily crusher plant activities to achieve production targets and budgeted tonnage
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping across the crusher and surrounding areas
• Monitor equipment performance and report defects promptly to ensure minimal downtime
• Assist with maintenance and repair of crusher and material handling equipment
• Coordinate daily calibration of primary and secondary crushers to meet required product specifications
• Work with Supervisors to develop short-, medium-, and long-term maintenance schedules
• Ensure all safety systems, including emergency stop wires and dust suppression systems, are fully functional
• Report all safety and environmental incidents and participate in investigations, including near-miss reporting
• Direct personnel and equipment to meet operational goals efficiently
• Prepare and submit end-of-shift operational reports

Qualifications & Experience

Education & Certification

• O’ Level, A’ Level, SSCE, HND, or equivalent qualification with basic computer literacy
• Certificate in Mineral Processing or a related field is an advantage
• Certified or eligible for certification by the Inspectorate Division of the Minerals Commission

Experience, Knowledge & Skills

• 7–10 years of experience in processing plant operations, particularly crusher operations
• Proven experience supervising plant operators and attendants
• Strong knowledge of maintenance practices for material handling systems, including crushers and conveyors
• Hands-on experience in similar mining or processing environments
• Ability to report and support investigations of incidents, including near misses
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work long hours in a physically demanding environment
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across diverse teams
• Valid Ghanaian driver’s license with proficiency in driving light vehicles
