The Role
We are seeking a motivated and results-oriented Micro Credit Officer to join our team in Kpone, Tema. The successful candidate will support the institution’s lending operations by managing client relationships, assessing loan applications, monitoring loan performance, and contributing to portfolio growth while maintaining sound credit practices.
This role is ideal for a proactive professional with strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a passion for supporting customers and small businesses through responsible financial services.
Key Responsibilities
As a Micro Credit Officer, you will:
- Identify and develop relationships with prospective and existing clients.
- Assess loan applications and evaluate clients’ financial capacity and creditworthiness.
- Recommend suitable credit solutions in line with institutional policies and procedures.
- Monitor loan portfolios to ensure timely repayments and maintain portfolio quality.
- Follow up on overdue accounts and support loan recovery activities where necessary.
- Maintain accurate customer records, loan documentation, and transaction reports.
- Provide excellent customer service and financial guidance to clients.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and operational standards.
- Support business development initiatives aimed at growing the institution’s customer base and loan portfolio.
- Prepare periodic reports on portfolio performance and client activities.
Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- At least two (2) years of relevant working experience in microfinance, banking, credit administration, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and financial assessment skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Good customer relationship management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
