Role Summary

The Procurement Officer will manage end-to-end procurement activities to ensure the timely acquisition of quality goods and services that support operational and maintenance requirements. The successful candidate will drive cost-effective purchasing, maintain supplier relationships, ensure compliance with procurement policies, and contribute to efficient supply chain operations within a fast-paced mining environment.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Supplier Management

• Initiate and manage procurement processes from requisition through purchase order issuance
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to achieve competitive pricing, quality, and timely delivery
• Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships
• Ensure procurement activities align with operational and technical requirements

Operational Coordination & Supply Chain Support

• Collaborate with technical, maintenance, logistics, and inventory teams to support uninterrupted operations
• Coordinate procurement schedules to meet project and operational timelines
• Support efficient inventory management and supply chain continuity
• Resolve procurement and supplier-related issues proactively and efficiently

Compliance & Documentation

• Maintain accurate procurement records, documentation, and audit trails
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, HSE standards, and regulatory requirements
• Support procurement budget management and cost control initiatives
• Ensure adherence to Ghana’s Minerals and Mining Act and local content regulations

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
• Professional certification such as CIPS or equivalent Supply Chain certification is an advantage
• Minimum of 3–5 years’ procurement experience, preferably within mining or heavy industry
• Strong knowledge of Ghana’s Minerals and Mining Act and local content regulations
• Proficiency in ERP systems such as Pronto Xi, SAP, or related platforms
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; experience with data analytics tools is an advantage
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• High attention to detail, integrity, and ability to work effectively under pressure
