Role Summary

The Research Fellow will contribute to high-quality academic research, teaching support, and scholarly publications within the University. The successful candidate will drive research excellence, secure competitive research funding, and contribute to the advancement of knowledge through impactful publications and collaborative projects.

Key Responsibilities

Research & Academic Contribution

• Conduct high-quality research in a relevant academic discipline
• Publish research findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals
• Contribute to the University’s research output and academic reputation
• Support interdisciplinary and collaborative research initiatives

Grant Writing & Funding Acquisition

• Develop and write competitive research grant proposals
• Identify funding opportunities from national and international sources
• Contribute to securing external research funding for institutional projects
• Manage and report on funded research projects in line with donor requirements

Teaching & Academic Support

• Support teaching activities where required within the department
• Supervise and mentor students in research projects and academic work
• Contribute to curriculum development and academic programme enhancement

Research Methods & Data Analysis

• Apply both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies effectively
• Design and implement research studies with strong methodological rigor
• Analyse data using appropriate statistical and analytical tools
• Ensure ethical compliance in all research activities

Qualification Required & Experience

Applicants must possess the following:

• A PhD in a relevant academic field
• Considerable research experience in a university or comparable institution
• Strong publication record in reputable academic journals
• Demonstrated experience in grant writing and securing research funding
• Competence in both quantitative and qualitative research methods
