Position Summary

Aquantuo is seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Marketing to lead the company’s marketing function across all operating markets. The successful candidate will drive brand growth, customer acquisition, retention, and market expansion through integrated marketing strategies, data-driven campaigns, and cross-functional collaboration.

This role requires a commercially minded marketing leader with strong expertise in brand management, digital marketing, customer engagement, and business growth within fast-paced and multi-market environments.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy & Business Growth

  • Develop and execute Aquantuo’s overall marketing strategy across all operating markets.
  • Align marketing initiatives with revenue growth, customer acquisition, retention, and route expansion objectives.
  • Identify high-potential services, customer segments, and operational routes for targeted campaigns.
  • Ensure all marketing activities support sales performance and organizational growth objectives.

Brand Positioning & Corporate Visibility

  • Strengthen Aquantuo’s positioning as a trusted and technology-driven logistics and commerce partner.
  • Maintain consistency in brand messaging, visual identity, communication tone, and customer experience across all channels and markets.
  • Protect and enhance the company’s reputation through proactive communication strategies.
  • Ensure the company’s brand promise — “Fast. Simple. Borderless.” — is reflected consistently across campaigns and customer interactions.

Campaign Planning & Execution

  • Lead the planning and execution of integrated marketing campaigns across all services and operational routes.
  • Oversee campaigns for:
    • E-Commerce Solutions
    • 3PL Fulfillment
    • Intra-Africa Logistics
    • Warehousing
    • Shipping & Customs Services
    • Last-Mile Delivery
    • Value-Added Services
  • Develop annual and monthly campaign calendars covering promotions, seasonal campaigns, webinars, customer education initiatives, retention campaigns, and reactivation programs.
  • Ensure campaigns are delivered on schedule, within scope, and measured against defined objectives.

Digital Marketing & Communications

  • Oversee digital content and communications across social media platforms, websites, email campaigns, blogs, newsletters, webinars, and WhatsApp channels.
  • Ensure all communications remain customer-focused, commercially relevant, and aligned with brand standards.
  • Lead customer education initiatives related to shipping procedures, customs processes, pricing structures, delivery timelines, and service offerings.
  • Manage communication regarding route updates, service announcements, shipping schedules, and operational changes.

Lead Generation & Sales Support

  • Collaborate with Sales Teams and Country Leads to generate qualified leads and improve conversion rates.
  • Develop compelling marketing materials that communicate Aquantuo’s services, value proposition, and competitive advantage.
  • Support campaigns targeting SMEs, importers and exporters, diaspora communities, merchants, corporate clients, and key accounts.
  • Track and report marketing contributions to customer inquiries, lead generation, customer reactivation, and revenue growth.

Customer Engagement, Retention & Reactivation

  • Design and implement initiatives that strengthen customer engagement, retention, and loyalty.
  • Partner with internal teams to identify communication gaps and recurring customer concerns.
  • Support service recovery communication during operational disruptions or customer service challenges.
  • Utilize customer insights and feedback to improve campaign effectiveness and customer experience.

Market Research & Competitive Intelligence

  • Monitor competitor activities, pricing models, service offerings, campaigns, and market positioning.
  • Conduct competitor analysis and market testing initiatives.
  • Identify emerging trends and opportunities within logistics, e-commerce, trade, and African consumer markets.
  • Use market intelligence to strengthen strategic positioning and campaign performance.

Reporting & Performance Analytics

  • Define and monitor key marketing performance indicators (KPIs) across all markets.
  • Analyze campaign performance, engagement metrics, lead generation, conversions, retention, and route-level impact.
  • Prepare management reports with actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Optimize marketing performance and ROI using data-driven decision-making.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the marketing team to achieve high performance.
  • Set clear expectations, priorities, accountability measures, and performance standards.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, continuous improvement, and execution excellence.
  • Support the professional development and growth of team members.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Operations, Sales, Customer Experience, Finance, and Leadership Teams.
  • Align marketing activities with operational realities, service timelines, pricing structures, and customer experience objectives.
  • Ensure strong coordination between marketing campaigns and sales execution.

Marketing Operations & Documentation

  • Maintain marketing calendars, campaign trackers, reporting systems, templates, and brand assets.
  • Document workflows, approval processes, campaign procedures, and reporting structures.
  • Ensure effective organization and management of marketing systems, tools, and digital assets.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience in Marketing, Brand Management, Business Growth, or Corporate Communications.
  • Proven experience leading marketing strategy and campaign execution across multiple markets or regions.
  • Strong background in digital marketing, customer engagement, brand management, and content strategy.
  • Experience within logistics, e-commerce, shipping, technology, or related industries will be an added advantage.
