Position Summary

The Associate Professor of Medical Microbiology will provide advanced academic leadership in teaching, research, curriculum development, and scholarly engagement within the discipline. The successful candidate will contribute to strengthening the University’s research profile, mentoring faculty and students, and enhancing the quality of academic delivery in Medical Microbiology and related biomedical sciences.

This role requires a seasoned academic or clinician-scientist with a strong publication record, proven teaching experience, and demonstrated leadership in research and academic service.

Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Applicants must possess:

• A minimum of a PhD in Medical Microbiology or a closely related discipline.

OR

• For clinicians, a minimum Membership Certificate from a recognized professional body in a relevant medical specialty.

Research Requirements

• Must have a minimum of twenty-four (24) publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
• Demonstrated record of sustained scholarly output and academic contribution.
• Proven experience in supervising postgraduate research and mentoring academic staff and students.
