Role Summary

Central University invites applications from qualified and motivated individuals to join the Faculty of Health Sciences as Lecturer in Medical Biochemistry. The successful candidate will contribute actively to teaching, research, student supervision, and academic service within a dynamic and supportive academic environment.

The role strengthens the University’s mission to deliver high-quality biomedical education and to advance research and training in the health sciences.

Key Responsibilities

The Lecturer will:

• Deliver engaging lectures and practical sessions in Medical Biochemistry
• Develop, review, and update course content in line with academic standards
• Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects
• Conduct and publish research in peer-reviewed journals
• Participate in departmental and faculty academic activities and governance
• Support curriculum development and continuous quality improvement
• Contribute to laboratory-based teaching and practical instruction
• Mentor students in academic and professional development

Qualification Required & Experience

Applicants must meet one of the following minimum requirements:

• Hold a PhD in Medical Biochemistry or a closely related discipline, OR
• Be a clinician with a Membership certificate from a recognised professional body

Additional requirements:

• Demonstrated ability or potential to teach at tertiary level
• Evidence of research engagement or scholarly contribution will be an advantage
