Role Summary
Central University invites applications from qualified and motivated individuals to join the Faculty of Health Sciences as Lecturer in Pharmacology. The successful candidate will contribute actively to teaching, research, student supervision, and academic service within a dynamic and supportive academic environment.
The role advances the University’s mission to deliver high-quality biomedical education and strengthen research and training in the health sciences.
Key Responsibilities
The Lecturer will:
- Deliver engaging lectures and practical sessions in Pharmacology
- Develop, review, and update course materials in line with academic standards
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects
- Conduct and publish research in peer-reviewed journals
- Participate in departmental and faculty meetings and academic governance
- Support curriculum development and continuous quality improvement
- Contribute to laboratory and practical teaching where applicable
- Mentor students in academic and professional development
Qualification Required & Experience
Applicants must meet one of the following minimum requirements:
- Hold a PhD in Pharmacology or a closely related discipline, OR
- Be a clinician with a Membership certificate from a recognised professional body
Additional requirements:
- Demonstrated ability or potential to teach at tertiary level
- Evidence of research activity or scholarly contribution will be an advantage
