Role Summary
Central University invites applications from qualified and motivated individuals to join the Faculty of Health Sciences as Lecturer in Chemical Pathology. The successful candidate will contribute actively to teaching, research, student supervision, and academic service within a dynamic and inclusive academic environment.
The role supports the University’s mission to deliver high-quality biomedical education and strengthen research capacity in the health sciences.
Key Responsibilities
The Lecturer will:
- Deliver engaging lectures and practical instruction in Chemical Pathology
- Develop, review, and update course content in alignment with academic standards
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects
- Conduct and publish research in peer-reviewed journals
- Participate in departmental and faculty meetings and academic activities
- Contribute to curriculum development and academic quality assurance
- Support laboratory-based teaching and practical training where applicable
- Mentor students in academic and professional development
Qualification Required & Experience
Applicants must meet one of the following minimum requirements:
- Hold a PhD in Chemical Pathology or a closely related discipline, OR
- Be a clinician with a Membership certificate from a recognised professional body
Additional requirements:
- Demonstrated ability or potential to teach at tertiary level
- Evidence of research activity or scholarly contribution will be an advantage
