Position: Lecturer – Haematology
Location: Tema, Ghana (Miotso Campus)
Employment Type: Full-Time

Role Summary

Central University invites applications from qualified and motivated individuals to join the Faculty of Health Sciences as Lecturer in Haematology. The successful candidate will contribute actively to teaching, student supervision, research, and academic service within a supportive and growth-oriented academic environment.

The role promotes excellence in biomedical education while encouraging scholarly engagement and professional development.


Key Responsibilities

The Lecturer will:

  • Deliver high-quality lectures and practical instruction in Haematology
  • Prepare and update course materials in line with approved curricula
  • Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects
  • Conduct and publish research in peer-reviewed journals
  • Participate in departmental meetings and academic governance
  • Support curriculum development and academic quality assurance
  • Contribute to laboratory teaching and practical training where applicable
  • Mentor and guide students in academic and professional development

Qualification Required & Experience

Applicants must meet one of the following minimum requirements:

  • Hold a PhD in Haematology or a closely related discipline, OR
  • Be a clinician with a Membership certificate from a recognised professional body

Additional requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability or potential to teach at tertiary level
  • Evidence of research activity or scholarly engagement will be an advantage
