Position Summary
The Mobile Financial Services (MFS) Manager will lead the development, growth, and operational management of the company’s mobile money and digital financial services portfolio. The successful candidate will drive customer acquisition, expand and strengthen the agent network, improve transaction volumes and profitability, ensure regulatory compliance, and build strategic partnerships that enhance business performance and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Growth
- Develop and execute strategies to increase mobile money subscriptions, transaction volumes, and revenue.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and market segments.
- Drive customer acquisition, engagement, retention, and product usage.
- Monitor market trends, customer behavior, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.
- Recommend and implement initiatives that improve market penetration and business performance.
Agent Network Management
- Recruit, onboard, and manage mobile money agents and merchants.
- Expand and maintain a productive, well-distributed agent network.
- Ensure agents maintain adequate liquidity and consistently deliver quality service.
- Monitor agent performance and implement improvement initiatives.
- Conduct regular field visits to strengthen relationships and provide operational support.
Operations & Service Delivery
- Oversee day-to-day Mobile Financial Services operations to ensure efficiency and service reliability.
- Resolve operational issues affecting customers, agents, and merchants.
- Collaborate with internal technical and support teams to address system and service challenges.
- Continuously improve service quality, operational processes, and customer experience.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure full compliance with Bank of Ghana regulations and applicable AML/KYC requirements.
- Monitor operational, fraud, and compliance risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits of agent and merchant activities.
- Maintain accurate operational records and regulatory reports.
Financial Management
- Prepare and manage operational budgets for Mobile Financial Services.
- Monitor revenue, costs, profitability, and overall business performance.
- Analyse financial and operational data to support informed decision-making and business growth.
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop MFS officers, supervisors, and field teams.
- Set clear performance objectives and monitor achievement.
- Foster a high-performance, customer-focused, and collaborative work culture.
Reporting & Performance Analytics
- Prepare regular reports on customer growth, transaction volumes, revenue performance, and agent productivity.
- Analyse business performance and provide actionable recommendations.
- Present business performance reports and strategic insights to senior management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.
- Professional certification in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Project Management, or a related field will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in Mobile Financial Services, FinTech, Banking, Telecommunications, or a related industry.
- At least two (2) years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of mobile money and digital financial services operations.
- Excellent understanding of Bank of Ghana regulations, AML, and KYC requirements.
- Proven business development and relationship management skills.
- Strong financial, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and consistently achieve business targets.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
The successful candidate will be assessed against:
- Growth in active mobile money customers.
- Increase in transaction volumes and revenue.
- Expansion and productivity of the agent network.
- Customer retention and satisfaction levels.
- Compliance with regulatory and audit requirements.
- Achievement of strategic business growth targets.
