Position Summary
The Head of SCM will provide executive leadership for procurement, sourcing, logistics, and supply chain governance across the organization. The successful candidate will develop and execute supply chain strategies that improve efficiency, reduce risk, ensure compliance, and support business growth in a highly competitive telecommunications environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Supply Chain Leadership
- Lead the development and execution of the company’s supply chain and procurement strategy in alignment with corporate objectives.
- Drive transformation initiatives that enhance procurement efficiency, cost optimization, and supplier performance.
- Establish and maintain robust supply chain governance frameworks and policies.
Procurement and Contract Management
- Oversee end-to-end procurement processes, including sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and supplier management.
- Ensure strict contract compliance while achieving best value for goods and services.
- Lead strategic sourcing initiatives to deliver cost savings and operational efficiencies.
- Manage high-value and high-risk contracts with key suppliers and service providers.
Financial and Operational Excellence
- Drive cost optimization initiatives and ensure alignment with budgetary controls and financial objectives.
- Leverage data analytics to provide actionable insights for executive decision-making.
- Ensure effective use of ERP systems (Oracle or equivalent) for procurement and supply chain operations.
- Strengthen risk management practices across the supply chain function.
Stakeholder and Supplier Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers, vendors, and partners.
- Collaborate with Finance, Technology, Legal, and Operations teams to ensure seamless supply chain execution.
- Engage senior leadership and provide clear reporting on supply chain performance and risks.
Leadership and Capability Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement and supply chain team.
- Promote a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement.
- Build organizational capability in modern procurement practices and supply chain excellence.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential Requirements
- First degree in Procurement & Supply Chain Management with a minimum of 10 years’ experience, OR
- Commercial or Engineering degree with at least 15 years’ experience, including a minimum of 5 years in executive-level procurement and supply chain leadership.
- Professional qualification in Procurement/Supply Chain Management (e.g., MCIPS) with at least 5 years post-qualification experience.
Desirable Requirements
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Procurement & Supply Chain Management, Project Management, Telecommunications, or Materials Engineering.
- Experience in telecommunications or technology-driven organizations.
- Professional certifications such as ACCA, CIMA, ICA, or CPA are an added advantage.
- Proficiency in Oracle ERP or similar enterprise supply chain/financial systems.

- Strong strategic leadership and decision-making abilities.
- Exceptional business acumen with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Proven track record in cost savings, contract compliance, and supplier optimization.
