Key Responsibilities
As a Sonographer, you will:
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with established clinical protocols and safety standards.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Review patient information, medical history, and examination requests to determine appropriate imaging procedures.
- Prepare and position patients appropriately while ensuring their comfort and privacy throughout the procedure.
- Explain ultrasound procedures to patients and provide reassurance where necessary.
- Capture, analyse, and document accurate ultrasound findings for review by medical practitioners.
- Ensure all patient records, reports, and imaging documentation are completed accurately and securely.
- Maintain strict compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and healthcare quality standards.
- Collaborate with doctors, radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support effective patient care.
- Perform routine quality checks on equipment and report technical issues promptly.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in line with healthcare regulations and professional ethics.
- Participate in continuous professional development activities to enhance clinical knowledge and technical skills.
Qualification Required & Experience
Applicants should have:
- A recognised qualification in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Medical Imaging, Radiography, or a related healthcare discipline.
- Relevant professional certification and registration with the appropriate healthcare regulatory body.
- A minimum of two (2) years of practical experience as a Sonographer is preferred.
- Experience performing a range of ultrasound examinations, including obstetric, abdominal, pelvic, and general diagnostic scans.
- Good knowledge of ultrasound techniques, patient care practices, and medical imaging procedures.
