Role Summary
The Information Technology Teacher will deliver engaging and practical technology lessons that prepare students to become confident, responsible, and creative users of technology. The successful candidate will create an interactive classroom environment that encourages innovation, collaboration, and problem-solving while supporting the school’s commitment to academic excellence and holistic development.
Key Responsibilities
As the Information Technology Teacher, you will:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Information Technology lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum and educational standards.
- Teach digital literacy, computer applications, coding, computational thinking, internet safety, and emerging technology concepts appropriate to students’ age and ability.
- Integrate technology into classroom instruction to enhance student learning and engagement.
- Develop practical learning experiences that strengthen students’ technical and problem-solving skills.
- Assess student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
- Promote responsible, ethical, and safe use of technology within the learning environment.
- Support students in technology-based projects, competitions, and extracurricular activities.
- Maintain effective classroom management and encourage active student participation.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate technology across subject areas where appropriate.
- Participate actively in school events, staff meetings, professional development programmes, and school improvement initiatives.
- Uphold and model the school’s Christian values in all interactions with students and the wider school community.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification or professional teaching licence.
Experience
- Previous teaching experience in a primary or secondary school environment is preferred.
- Experience delivering the American, International, or International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum is an advantage.
- Experience teaching coding, robotics, STEM, or digital technologies is highly desirable.
