Position Summary

As a Special Needs Educator, you will deliver inclusive, engaging, and individualized learning experiences that support the academic, social, emotional, and developmental growth of learners with special educational needs. You will work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders to create a positive and supportive learning environment where every learner can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

• Plan and deliver learner-centred lessons that meet the individual educational needs of students.
• Develop and implement individualized learning strategies to support student progress.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that promotes learning and wellbeing.
• Assess student progress and maintain accurate academic and behavioural records.
• Collaborate with parents, guardians, and colleagues to support learners’ educational and developmental goals.
• Adapt teaching methods, resources, and classroom activities to accommodate diverse learning needs.
• Encourage learners’ social, emotional, communication, and life skills development.
• Promote positive behaviour and implement appropriate classroom management strategies.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development activities, and school programmes.
• Comply with all school policies, safeguarding requirements, and professional standards.
• Perform any other duties assigned that contribute to the effective delivery of quality education.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess:

• The necessary academic and professional qualifications required to teach learners with special educational needs.
• Relevant training or certification in Special Education will be an advantage.
• Experience working with children or learners with special educational needs will be an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of inclusive education practices and learner-centred teaching methodologies.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
• A caring, patient, and compassionate approach to teaching and supporting learners.
