Position Summary
The Royal Norwegian Embassy is seeking a competent and detail-oriented Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting and financial operations. The role contributes to a well-controlled and efficient financial environment by ensuring accurate financial records, compliance with regulations, and timely reporting in line with Embassy and Government of Norway requirements.
The Accountant will work independently while collaborating closely with Embassy staff in a multicultural setting.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily accounting and bookkeeping activities in accordance with established financial procedures.
Prepare financial reports, reconciliations, and supporting documentation accurately and on time.
Process payments, invoices, and financial transactions in compliance with internal controls.
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation and filing.
Support budget monitoring and financial planning activities.
Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and audit requirements.
Use accounting software and Excel effectively to manage financial data.
Liaise with internal staff, auditors, and external service providers as required.
Contribute to a professional, efficient, and collaborative work environment.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Academic degree in Accounting or an equivalent field.
Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant professional experience as an accountant.
Working knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent command of English, both written and oral.
Proven ability to work diligently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
Comfort and effectiveness in working within a multicultural environment.
