We invite qualified and experienced professionals to join our Finance Directorate as Accountants or Senior Accountants and contribute to effective financial management and accountability.

Role Purpose

You will support the University’s financial operations by ensuring accurate accounting records, effective financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with relevant policies, regulations, and standards. Senior Accountants will also provide technical leadership and supervision within the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

• Prepare, review, and maintain accurate financial records in line with approved accounting standards
• Produce timely financial statements, management reports, and statutory reports
• Ensure proper reconciliation of accounts and resolution of discrepancies

Budgeting & Compliance

• Support budget preparation, monitoring, and control processes
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal policies, and audit requirements
• Implement strong internal control systems to safeguard institutional resources

Financial Operations

• Manage accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger functions
• Support payroll processing and related financial transactions
• Monitor expenditures to ensure alignment with approved budgets

Advisory & Leadership (Senior Accountants only)

• Provide technical guidance and supervision to junior accounting staff
• Support strategic financial planning and decision-making processes
• Lead process improvements within the finance function

Qualification Required & Experience

• Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Information Technology
• Membership in a recognised professional accounting body (e.g., ICA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)

Experience Requirements

• Accountant: 4–6 years of relevant post-qualification experience
• Senior Accountant: 6–8 years of relevant post-qualification experience
