Position Summary

Cummins Africa Middle East is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accounts Receivable Analyst to support the AR function with accurate reporting, financial analysis, and process improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening cash flow, improving receivables performance, and ensuring financial accuracy through data-driven insights and proactive stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver accurate and insightful analytical support to the Accounts Receivable team to enable data-driven financial decision-making.
  • Prepare detailed financial analyses, variance reports, and cost assessments to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Analyse AR performance data to highlight root causes of payment delays, outstanding balances, and process inefficiencies.
  • Identify gaps in current Accounts Receivable processes and proactively recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, compliance, and accuracy.
  • Resolve moderately complex accounts receivable and credit-related issues, ensuring timely recovery and improved cash flow.
  • Maintain strong professional relationships with external customers by addressing account queries and ensuring prompt resolution of issues.
  • Collaborate closely with internal Finance teams and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure consistency and alignment in financial processes.
  • Support the integrity of financial reporting by providing accurate, timely, and reliable financial and statistical data.
  • Contribute to month-end and period-end closing activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting support.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives, delivering analytical insights and supporting continuous improvement efforts.

Required Skills and Competencies

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of Accounts Receivable processes, including payment processing, reconciliations, month-end close, and journal entries.
  • Ability to analyse financial data, identify trends, and interpret variances with confidence and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards to ensure compliance and audit readiness.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and recommend practical solutions.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and reporting tools (ERP experience is an advantage).

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict weekly and monthly deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with customers and internal stakeholders.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent qualification).
  • Minimal relevant work experience required; prior exposure to finance or accounts receivable processes is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles and accounting practices is essential.
