Position Summary
The European Union is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant – Accountant to support administrative and accounting functions within its operations in Ghana. This role contributes to a well-structured, compliant, and efficient working environment by ensuring accurate financial processing, administrative support, and adherence to EU procedures.
The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams to support accounting activities, procurement-related tasks, and general administrative functions.
Key Responsibilities
Support accounting and financial operations in accordance with EU rules and procedures.
Prepare, review, and maintain accurate financial and administrative records.
Assist with budget monitoring, payments, and reconciliations.
Support procurement procedures and related documentation where required.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and financial regulations.
Provide general administrative support, including filing, correspondence, and coordination tasks.
Liaise with internal stakeholders and external service providers as needed.
Support audits, reviews, and reporting requirements.
Contribute to a professional, respectful, and multicultural working environment.
Eligibility Requirements
Ghanaian nationals are eligible to apply.
Non-nationals must provide a valid residence and work permit at the time of application.
Required Qualifications
Professional Qualification
Part 2 of the Chartered Accountant, Ghana Certificate.
Assets (Added Advantage)
Knowledge of French and local Ghanaian languages.
Experience in procurement procedures.
Skills & Competencies
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good understanding of accounting and administrative processes.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and within a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
High level of integrity and confidentiality.
Recruitment Process
