We are seeking a motivated, ambitious, and results-driven Business Development Officer to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to the company’s growth by identifying new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and driving revenue generation.

Position Summary

The Business Development Officer will play a key role in expanding the company’s customer base, increasing sales performance, and strengthening market presence. The successful candidate will identify new business opportunities, engage prospective clients, promote products and services, and maintain strong customer relationships while achieving assigned sales and business development targets.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to support revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Develop and implement strategies to attract new customers and strengthen existing client relationships.
  • Promote and sell the company’s products and services to achieve assigned sales targets.
  • Generate leads, conduct client meetings, and deliver compelling product and service presentations.
  • Negotiate and close business deals while ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients and business opportunities.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
  • Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and provide timely support to clients.
  • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback professionally and efficiently.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and long-term client retention.

Market Research & Business Intelligence

  • Conduct market research to identify emerging opportunities, customer needs, and industry trends.
  • Monitor competitor activities and market developments to support strategic decision-making.
  • Gather and analyze customer feedback to improve products, services, and sales approaches.
  • Provide insights and recommendations that contribute to business growth initiatives.

Reporting & Performance Management

  • Prepare and submit accurate sales reports, business development updates, and activity reports.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of customer interactions, sales activities, and business opportunities.
  • Track progress against sales targets and performance objectives.
  • Support management with relevant market and customer intelligence to drive business performance.

Marketing & Brand Promotion

  • Participate in marketing campaigns, promotional activities, exhibitions, and business events.
  • Represent the company professionally during customer engagements and networking opportunities.
  • Support initiatives aimed at enhancing brand visibility and market awareness.
  • Contribute ideas and strategies that strengthen the company’s competitive position.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in Sales, Marketing, Business Development, or a related field.
  • Diploma, HND, Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent qualification in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related discipline will be an advantage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, persuasion, and relationship management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications will be an added advantage.
