Role Purpose

The Business Development Officer drives growth by identifying new business opportunities, mobilizing customers, and expanding the bank’s product and service portfolio. The role actively builds strong client relationships, supports revenue generation, and contributes to the bank’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Business Growth and Customer Acquisition

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the bank’s customer base.

  • Mobilize deposits and promote banking products and services within the catchment area.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with individuals, groups, and institutions.

Marketing and Relationship Management

  • Promote the bank’s products through community outreach and engagement activities.

  • Maintain regular contact with clients to understand needs and provide appropriate solutions.

  • Support customer retention through quality service delivery.

Planning, Reporting, and Coordination

  • Prepare regular activity and performance reports for management review.

  • Monitor business development targets and contribute to strategy implementation.

  • Work closely with branch and operations teams to ensure seamless service delivery.

Compliance and Professional Conduct

  • Ensure all business development activities comply with bank policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Uphold the bank’s values, ethical standards, and professional image at all times.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • HND in Business Administration or a related discipline.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Basic marketing and customer relationship management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and in a community-based environment.

  • Results-oriented with a strong customer focus.
