We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CIC / OT Engineer to join our team in Obuasi and support the design, maintenance, and optimization of control and operational technology systems across site operations.

Role Purpose

The CIC / OT Engineer will ensure the reliability, security, and efficiency of industrial control systems (ICS), instrumentation, and operational technology infrastructure. The role focuses on supporting automation systems, troubleshooting control networks, and ensuring seamless integration between operational technology and production systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the design, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of control and instrumentation systems.
• Monitor and maintain operational technology (OT) systems to ensure continuous and reliable plant operations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve faults in PLCs, SCADA systems, DCS systems, and industrial networks.
• Ensure integration between OT systems and plant equipment to support efficient operations.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on control and instrumentation systems.
• Support system upgrades, commissioning, and implementation of new automation solutions.
• Ensure cybersecurity and integrity of OT systems in collaboration with IT and engineering teams.
• Analyze system performance data to identify faults, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, system diagrams, and maintenance records.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and operations teams to ensure system reliability.
• Support shutdowns, system troubleshooting, and emergency response activities.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, engineering best practices, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
• Certifications in PLC programming, SCADA systems, OT cybersecurity, or industrial automation will be an advantage.

Experience

• Minimum of 3–6 years of relevant experience in industrial automation, control systems, or operational technology environments.
• Experience working with PLCs, SCADA, DCS, and industrial communication networks.
• Experience in mining, industrial, or heavy engineering environments will be an advantage.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of industrial control systems and automation technologies.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex OT and instrumentation systems.
• Knowledge of industrial cybersecurity principles and best practices.
