Position Summary
The Compliance Officer leads and supports the firm’s compliance and risk management framework. The role ensures adherence to Ghanaian regulatory requirements and international compliance standards relevant to investment advisory and fund-related activities.
The Compliance Officer works closely with management, investment teams, and external regulators to promote strong governance, ethical conduct, and regulatory compliance across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
The Compliance Officer will:
Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls in line with regulatory requirements.
Monitor compliance with Ghanaian regulatory frameworks, including SEC, GIPC, and FIA requirements.
Ensure adherence to international compliance standards, including AML/CFT, FATF, and relevant ESG frameworks.
Conduct compliance risk assessments and recommend mitigation measures.
Oversee client due diligence, KYC processes, and transaction monitoring.
Support regulatory filings, audits, inspections, and reporting obligations.
Provide compliance advisory support to management and investment teams.
Deliver compliance training and awareness sessions to staff.
Maintain accurate compliance records and documentation.
Investigate and report potential compliance breaches and support corrective actions.
Collaborate with external legal counsel, regulators, and service providers as required.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
A Master’s degree or relevant professional certification is an advantage.
Professional Experience
Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in compliance, legal, or risk management within:
Investment advisory
Asset management
Financial services environments
Technical Knowledge and Skills
Strong knowledge of Ghanaian regulatory frameworks, including SEC, GIPC, and FIA.
Solid understanding of international compliance standards, including AML/CFT, FATF, and ESG-related requirements.
Familiarity with fund structures, impact investing, and blended finance instruments is a strong advantage.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
High level of integrity, sound judgment, and strong attention to detail.
