Role Overview

The Cyber Security Solutions Specialist plays a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security solutions that protect Telecel Ghana’s networks, systems, and data. This role requires hands-on technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams to proactively manage cyber risks and respond effectively to security incidents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain cybersecurity solutions aligned with Telecel Ghana’s security architecture and business objectives.

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate security risks across networks, applications, cloud environments, and endpoints.

  • Lead the deployment and optimization of security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM, endpoint protection, and identity and access management solutions.

  • Monitor security events, investigate incidents, and coordinate timely response and remediation activities.

  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing coordination, and security reviews to strengthen the organization’s security posture.

  • Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures in line with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate with IT, network, cloud, and application teams to embed security by design across all technology initiatives.

  • Support compliance efforts related to internal policies, regulatory frameworks, and international security standards.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship on cybersecurity best practices to internal stakeholders.

  • Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and cybersecurity trends to continuously improve security capabilities.

    Educational Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.

    • Minimum of 5 years’ progressive experience in cybersecurity or a closely related field, with a strong emphasis on hands-on technical security operations and solution implementation.

    • Demonstrated experience working with enterprise security technologies, risk management, and incident response.

      Professional Certifications 

      • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

      • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)

      • Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)

      • Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP)

      • GIAC Critical Controls Certification (GCCC)

      • CCNP Security

        Additional Requirements

        • Must be residing in Accra, Ghana.

        • Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.

        • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team-oriented environment.

        • High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to continuous learning.
