Position Summary
The Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data infrastructure that enable reliable analytics and business intelligence. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data availability, quality, security, and performance across the organization’s data ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Develop, construct, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Design and assemble large, complex datasets that meet both functional and non-functional business requirements.
- Collaborate with data architects, data scientists, and analysts to define data requirements and optimize data workflows.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain data systems using tools such as Grafana and AWS CloudWatch to ensure reliability, quality, and availability.
- Implement and enforce data governance, security, and compliance measures to protect sensitive data.
- Design, develop, and optimize data storage solutions, including data warehouses and data lakes.
- Automate data workflows and improve pipeline efficiency for scalability and performance.
- Continuously monitor data infrastructure performance and proactively resolve issues.
- Document data pipelines, architectures, processes, and best practices for knowledge sharing.
- Optimize database performance for efficient data storage, retrieval, and processing.
- Stay up to date with emerging trends, tools, and technologies in data engineering.
Qualification Required & Experience
Applicants must possess:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in ETL tools, data integration platforms, and data engineering frameworks.
- Strong SQL skills with experience in relational and NoSQL databases.
- Hands-on experience with big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Kafka, or Hadoop.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Proficiency in programming languages, especially Python (preferred), Java, or Scala.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
- Experience working with data quality management and optimization practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow or Luigi.
- Familiarity with data warehousing platforms such as Amazon Redshift or Snowflake.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
