Role Purpose
The Digital Transformation Manager will drive the development and execution of Telecel Ghana’s digital transformation agenda, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic growth priorities across data services, digital platforms, and Telecel Cash. The successful candidate will champion innovation, digital product development, process automation, AI adoption, and customer experience transformation while creating sustainable new revenue streams beyond traditional telecommunications services.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Strategy & Transformation
- Develop and execute Telecel Ghana’s digital transformation roadmap in alignment with business growth objectives.
- Lead the transition from a traditional telecommunications operator to a digital-first, platform-driven organization.
- Identify, develop, and commercialize new digital revenue streams beyond core voice and data services.
- Drive the implementation and advancement of Telecel Ghana’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) strategy.
- Promote and embed a digital culture across the organization.
Digital Financial Services & Telecel Cash
- Drive integration between telecommunications services and Telecel Cash.
- Lead the digitization and expansion of financial services, including payments, remittances, merchant solutions, micro-lending, and wallet-based airtime and data purchases.
- Collaborate with financial institutions, fintech partners, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and innovation within the digital financial ecosystem.
Customer Experience & Digital Channels
- Enhance adoption, engagement, and performance of digital channels, including the Telecel Play App, web platforms, chatbots, and emerging digital touchpoints.
- Lead end-to-end redesign of customer journeys across digital services, airtime and data purchases, and mobile money transactions.
- Drive customer-centric innovation to improve satisfaction, convenience, and digital engagement.
Product Innovation & Ecosystem Development
- Lead the development and launch of innovative digital products and services, including:
- Digital lending and savings solutions
- Merchant and SME-focused offerings
- Content, entertainment, and lifestyle services
- Bundled digital propositions
- Promote the growth of an API ecosystem that enables strategic partnerships with fintechs, aggregators, developers, and other digital service providers.
Operational Excellence & Technology Enablement
- Automate key business processes, including onboarding, Know Your Customer (KYC), customer support, and reconciliation activities.
- Drive efficiency improvements and reduce operational costs through digitization and automation.
- Enable data-driven decision-making across commercial and operational functions.
- Support the migration to scalable, cloud-enabled technology architectures.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- A postgraduate qualification or relevant professional certification in Digital Transformation, Innovation, Data Analytics, AI, or Project Management will be an added advantage.
Professional Experience
- Minimum of 8–12 years of relevant experience in telecommunications, fintech, digital transformation, or related industries.
- Demonstrated success in leading and delivering large-scale digital transformation initiatives.
- Strong experience in developing strategic insights through research, analysis, and data-driven decision-making.
- Experience working within a digital-native, technology-driven, or start-up environment.
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders and drive organizational change.
