As part of our growing team, we are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Dozer Operator to support our mining operations at Akyem, New Abirem.

Position Summary

The Dozer Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of bulldozers and other assigned heavy equipment to support mining, earthmoving, land clearing, and site preparation activities. The successful candidate will contribute to operational efficiency by ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with company standards.

This role is ideal for a dedicated professional who takes pride in equipment operation, workplace safety, and achieving operational targets.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Operation

• Operate bulldozers safely and efficiently to support mining and site development activities.
• Perform grading, land clearing, earthmoving, road maintenance, and material handling tasks as assigned.
• Execute work according to operational plans, specifications, and production schedules.
• Ensure work areas are prepared and maintained to support efficient mining operations.

Safety & Compliance

• Adhere to all health, safety, environmental, and operational procedures.
• Conduct pre-operational inspections and identify potential hazards before commencing work.
• Report equipment defects, unsafe conditions, and incidents promptly.
• Participate actively in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training programmes.

Equipment Maintenance & Care

• Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance checks on assigned equipment.
• Monitor machine performance and report maintenance requirements to the appropriate personnel.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and operational readiness.
• Complete daily operational and equipment inspection reports accurately.

Operational Support

• Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and other equipment operators to achieve production objectives.
• Support site preparation, haul road construction, stockpile management, and related operational activities.
• Assist in implementing continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety and productivity.
• Carry out additional duties assigned within the scope of the role.

Qualifications & Experience

To be considered for this position, you should possess:

• An HND, Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline.
• Proven experience operating bulldozers or similar heavy-duty equipment within mining, construction, or related industries.
• Strong understanding of heavy equipment operation and maintenance practices.
• Knowledge of workplace health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Ability to interpret operational instructions and work plans.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• A valid heavy equipment operating certification or license will be an added advantage.
