Position Summary
As the Employee Relations Officer, you will serve as a trusted partner to employees and management by fostering positive workplace relationships, addressing employee concerns, supporting engagement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with employment legislation and company policies. You will contribute significantly to creating a respectful, inclusive, and productive work environment that supports organizational success.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations Management
- Manage and resolve employee grievances, complaints, disciplinary matters, and workplace conflicts in a fair, professional, and timely manner.
- Provide guidance to employees and managers on employee relations issues, workplace policies, and best practices.
- Support investigations into workplace concerns and recommend appropriate resolutions.
- Promote positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Ensure compliance with labour laws, company policies, and HR best practices.
Employee Engagement & Organizational Development
- Support workforce planning and organizational development initiatives.
- Assist in designing and implementing employee engagement programs and activities.
- Coordinate employee wellness initiatives that promote work-life balance and employee well-being.
- Support recognition and reward programs that enhance employee motivation and retention.
- Gather employee feedback and recommend initiatives to improve workplace satisfaction, productivity, and engagement.
Policy Development & Compliance
- Review, update, and maintain employee handbooks, HR policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Ensure HR policies remain aligned with current labour regulations and industry best practices.
- Communicate policy updates and support consistent implementation across the organization.
- Assist in developing workplace standards, codes of conduct, and employee relations frameworks.
Employee Communication & Support
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee concerns and workplace-related inquiries.
- Facilitate effective communication between management and employees on organizational matters.
- Promote a culture of transparency, inclusivity, collaboration, and mutual respect.
- Support change management initiatives and employee transition processes.
HR Administration & Reporting
- Maintain accurate employee relations records, reports, and documentation.
- Prepare reports on employee relations trends, disciplinary matters, and engagement initiatives.
- Monitor employee morale and recommend workplace improvement opportunities.
- Support HR projects, programs, and organizational initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Human Resource Management
- Business Administration
- Industrial Relations
- Organizational Psychology
- Public Administration
- Or a related field
Professional Certification
Professional HR certifications will be an added advantage, including:
- CIHRM (Chartered Institute of Human Resource Management – Ghana)
- SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management)
- CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development)
- Other recognized Human Resource certifications
Experience
- Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in Employee Relations, Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Organizational Development, or a similar role.
- Experience within a corporate, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, FMCG, or healthcare environment will be an advantage.
