Job Purpose
The Energy Officer supports the planning, coordination, and implementation of clean energy projects under Mission 300. The role engages stakeholders, monitors project progress, and ensures alignment with UNOPS’ objectives and sustainable energy frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Support the design, implementation, and monitoring of clean energy projects under Mission 300
Engage with key stakeholders, including government agencies, development partners, and private sector actors
Facilitate coordination among partners, core project teams, and UNOPS operational units
Contribute to project reporting, data collection, and impact assessments
Provide technical and strategic advice to enhance project outcomes
Promote sustainable energy practices and ensure alignment with UNOPS standards and frameworks
Support capacity-building initiatives and knowledge-sharing activities across stakeholders
Assist in identifying opportunities for scaling clean energy solutions in Ghana
Educational & Professional Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Energy, Engineering, Business Management, Policy, Economics, Sustainable Development, or related fields with 2 years’ relevant experience, OR
Master’s degree (or equivalent) in any of the above fields with 0 years’ relevant experience
Minimum of 2 years hands-on experience in the clean energy sector
Proven experience engaging government agencies, development partners, and private sector actors
Desired Qualifications
Experience with the African power sector, Mission 300 operations, core partners, priority projects, and implementation frameworks
Experience working in multicultural environments or UN system organizations in developing countries
Languages
English: Fluent (Required)
French: Intermediate (Desirable)
Arabic: Intermediate (Desirable)
Chinese/Mandarin: Intermediate (Desirable)
Russian: Intermediate (Desirable)
Spanish: Intermediate (Desirable)
Skills & Competencies
