Job Summary

The Engineer – High Voltage & Radio Communication Maintenance ensures the reliability, safety, and optimal performance of high-voltage electrical systems and radio communication networks. The role requires a technically skilled professional who can maintain critical infrastructure, resolve complex faults, and support continuous operational improvement.

Key Responsibilities

High-Voltage Electrical Systems

• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on high-voltage equipment, including transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and power distribution systems
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults to minimize downtime
• Conduct testing, commissioning, and system upgrades as required
• Ensure strict adherence to high-voltage safety procedures, electrical codes, and regulatory standards

Radio Communication Systems

• Install, configure, and maintain radio communication systems, including base stations, handheld radios, and repeater networks
• Monitor and optimize communication networks to ensure performance and reliability
• Diagnose and repair faults in radio frequency (RF) equipment with minimal operational disruption
• Implement software updates and firmware configurations for communication devices

Technical Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate and detailed records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment history, and test results
• Prepare reports on system performance and recommend improvements
• Develop and update technical documentation, including schematics and standard operating procedures

Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Degree in Electrical Engineering & Electronics, or Diploma in Electrical Engineering & Electronics (or related field) from a recognized institution

Experience, Knowledge & Skills

• 3–5 years of experience in high-voltage systems maintenance and radio communication systems, including RF troubleshooting
• Certification in high-voltage switching and radio communication systems (e.g., Motorola systems) is an added advantage
• Strong knowledge of high-voltage systems and radio communication technologies, including RF principles
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues effectively
• Strong understanding of safety standards and best practices for high-voltage and communication systems
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities in a dynamic environment
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across diverse teams and cultures
• Must be medically fit for the role and working environment
• Valid driver’s license with proficiency in driving light vehicles
