Job Summary

SBP Africa is seeking an experienced and results-oriented Expat Senior Accountant to oversee financial operations and ensure compliance with Ghanaian financial regulations and reporting standards. The successful candidate will provide strategic financial leadership, maintain accurate financial records, and support business growth through sound financial management and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee daily accounting operations and financial reporting
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Handle budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities
• Ensure compliance with Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), SSNIT, VAT, and other statutory requirements
• Monitor cash flow, accounts payable, and receivables
• Conduct bank reconciliations and maintain general ledger accuracy
• Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors
• Prepare management reports and provide strategic financial insights
• Ensure timely tax filings and compliance with local financial regulations
• Supervise and support junior accounting staff where necessary
• Improve financial systems, internal controls, and reporting processes

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Professional certification such as ACCA, CA, CPA, or CIMA is highly preferred
• Minimum of 5–8 years’ experience in accounting or finance roles
• Prior work experience in Ghana is mandatory
• Strong understanding of Ghanaian tax laws and financial regulations
• Experience working in multinational or expatriate environments is an advantage
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Expatriate candidate currently residing in Ghana or willing to relocate
• Indian nationals preferred due to business requirements; however, other qualified expatriates are encouraged to apply
• Adaptable, detail-oriented, and commercially minded professional
