Job Summary
CETECH Ghana seeks an Experienced Woodworks Technician to support woodworking operations and technical training activities. The successful candidate will actively contribute to production work while mentoring learners through hands-on instruction. This role suits a skilled craft professional who values precision, creativity, and knowledge transfer within a supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform high-quality woodworking tasks, including joinery, furniture making, and finish carpentry.
Plan, measure, cut, assemble, and finish wood products according to design specifications.
Operate and maintain woodworking tools, machinery, and equipment safely and efficiently.
Train, mentor, and supervise students or junior technicians using practical, hands-on methods.
Demonstrate best practices in woodworking techniques, safety, and workshop organization.
Support practical training sessions, demonstrations, and workshop activities.
Carry out emergency repairs and routine maintenance carpentry when required.
Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards and workshop policies.
Maintain accurate records of materials used, work completed, and training activities.
Collaborate with instructors and management to improve training outcomes and workshop efficiency.
Educational Requirements
TVET Higher National Diploma (HND) or
Bachelor’s Degree in Woodworking, Carpentry, Furniture Design, or a closely related field.
Experience Requirements
Minimum of 5–8 years of practical woodworking experience across joinery, furniture making, and finish carpentry.
At least 1–2 years of teaching, training, or mentorship experience in a formal or informal setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using CAD or woodworking design software.
Prior experience in a TVET institution or technical training environment.
Hands-on experience in emergency and maintenance carpentry.
Passion for mentoring learners and developing technical skills in others.
