Position Overview

The Farm Manager will lead overall farm operations, supervise staff, and ensure efficient livestock production and farm resource management. The role requires strong leadership, hands-on agricultural expertise, and the ability to make timely operational decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily farm operations and ensure smooth workflow across all activities
• Supervise, train, and coordinate farm staff to achieve productivity targets
• Implement best practices in livestock farming and animal welfare management
• Maintain accurate farm records using relevant computer software
• Manage farm machinery usage, maintenance, and operational efficiency
• Monitor weather patterns, market conditions, and farm risks to make informed decisions
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and farm operational standards
• Optimize resources to improve productivity and reduce operational costs

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong agricultural knowledge with in-depth understanding of livestock farming practices
• Proven experience in staff supervision and operational management
• Technical competence in farm machinery operation and maintenance
• Proficiency in computer-based record-keeping and farm management systems
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in dynamic conditions

Educational Requirements

• A degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Animal Science, or a related field is preferred
• Extensive practical farm management experience may be considered in place of formal education

Working Conditions

• This is a full-time role requiring long working hours, including weekends and holidays when necessary
