Position Summary
As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial reporting, maintaining accurate accounting records, supporting budgeting and forecasting activities, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with management to provide financial insights that support business growth and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, management accounts, and reports.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded.
- Monitor and reconcile bank accounts, receivables, payables, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Prepare schedules and documentation for internal and external audits.
- Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to improve efficiency and profitability.
- Monitor cash flow and support treasury management activities.
- Assist in the development and implementation of financial controls and accounting policies.
- Provide financial insights and reports to support management decision-making.
- Ensure the confidentiality and security of financial information.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Must be a fully qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAG, ACCA, or an equivalent recognized professional accounting body).
Qualification & Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years post-qualification experience in accounting, finance, financial reporting, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience preparing financial statements and management reports.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Prior experience within the insurance brokerage, insurance, financial services, or related industry will be an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial management skills.
