Role Overview

The General Manager / Accountant actively leads the hospital’s overall operations while ensuring strong financial management, compliance, and sustainability. The role combines executive management responsibilities with oversight of accounting, budgeting, and financial controls to support efficient healthcare service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day management of hospital operations

• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, accounting, and reporting functions

• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, policies, and healthcare standards

• Develop and implement operational and financial controls to improve efficiency

• Manage cash flow, expenditures, and revenue generation activities

• Supervise administrative, finance, and support teams

• Prepare management reports and present financial performance to leadership

• Support procurement, payroll, and asset management processes

• Build strong relationships with stakeholders, regulators, and service providers

• Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement

Educational Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field

• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ICAG, ACCA, CPA) is a strong advantage

• Proven experience in financial management and general administration, preferably within a healthcare or service-oriented organization

• Strong leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities

• High level of integrity, accountability, and confidentiality
