Role Overview

The General Manager provides strategic and operational leadership to drive business growth, improve profitability, and scale manufacturing operations. This role oversees all aspects of the business, including production, finance, partnerships, and market expansion, while building a high-performance culture and ensuring long-term sustainability.


Key Responsibilities

Business Growth & Strategy

  • Develop and execute strategies to increase revenue, profitability, and market share.
  • Identify and pursue growth opportunities across local, regional, and international markets.
  • Establish scalable systems, structures, and performance frameworks to support long-term expansion.

Investment, Partnerships & Funding

  • Lead initiatives to secure investment, funding, and strategic partnerships.
  • Develop and deliver compelling business proposals and investor presentations.
  • Strengthen financial governance, reporting standards, and accountability frameworks.

Operations & Leadership

  • Oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations, including sourcing, production planning, quality assurance, and delivery.
  • Drive operational efficiency, cost control, and continuous improvement across all functions.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing teams.
  • Foster a performance-driven culture built on accountability, collaboration, and results.

Market Development & Branding

  • Lead sales and marketing strategies to drive customer acquisition and retention.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, distributors, suppliers, and key stakeholders.
  • Strengthen brand positioning and market presence.

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal governance policies.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial performance monitoring, and cost optimization.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Entrepreneurship, or a related field.
  • MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of six (6) years of progressive management experience within garment, apparel, textile, or related manufacturing industries.
  • Proven experience in business turnaround, operational restructuring, and scaling production.
  • Demonstrated success in securing contracts, partnerships, funding, or market expansion initiatives.

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing systems, production planning, quality control, and supply chain optimization.
  • Solid financial management and performance monitoring expertise.
  • Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Results-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.

Salary Range

GHS 10,000 – 15,000 net per month (based on experience and proven performance track record).
