Role Overview

BII seeks an experienced and strategic GhISP Team Leader / Director to lead the Ghana Investment Support Program (GhISP). The role provides senior leadership in shaping, managing, and delivering investment support initiatives that strengthen Ghana’s private sector and capital markets. The successful candidate will work closely with public and private sector stakeholders and lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver measurable development and investment outcomes.

This position requires the post holder to work from BII’s offices in Accra, Ghana. Applicants must reside in Accra or be willing to relocate.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall strategic leadership and direction for the Ghana Investment Support Program (GhISP)

• Lead program design, implementation, and performance management to achieve agreed objectives

• Engage actively with senior stakeholders across government, private sector, financial institutions, development finance institutions, and civil society

• Build and manage strong partnerships that enhance investment readiness and market development

• Oversee investment-related advisory activities across private equity, venture capital, capital markets, and financial services

• Lead, mentor, and manage high-performing teams, consultants, and partners

• Ensure strong governance, risk management, and compliance with BII policies

• Monitor results, evaluate impact, and report progress to senior leadership and donors

• Represent BII and GhISP at high-level forums, meetings, and industry engagements

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Post-graduate degree (MBA, Economics, Business, Finance, or other relevant discipline)

• Strong track record in private equity, venture capital investment, capital markets, and/or financial services, particularly in emerging markets

• Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior professionals within banks, development finance institutions, investment firms, and other key stakeholders

• Extensive experience working across public sector, private sector, and civil society environments

• Significant leadership experience in senior roles, with a proven record of effectively managing people, partnerships, and complex programs

• Strong strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Location Requirement

• This role is based in Accra, Ghana

• The successful candidate will work full time from BII’s Accra office
