Job Summary
The Head of Estate Management will provide strategic leadership and technical expertise in managing the company’s estates. This role requires guiding policies, processes, and systems to optimize estate operations, revenue generation, land acquisition, and compliance with regulatory standards. The successful candidate will be a proactive leader, capable of driving efficiency and innovation across all estate management activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of strategies, policies, SOPs, and work plans for the Estate Management Department in alignment with corporate goals.
- Collaborate with the Finance Department to develop and implement revenue mobilization strategies for collection of ground rents, levies, and related fees.
- Formulate and monitor the implementation of estate management policies to ensure compliance with company standards and regulations.
- Oversee systems and procedures for lease management, revenue collection, and record-keeping to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Provide technical advice on valuation and re-valuation of estates and recommend actions to management.
- Work closely with the Legal Department to prepare and process new leases, consents, and lease renewals.
- Ensure effective handling of correspondence and complaints from property owners or customers in line with company standards.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive estate records and management systems for smooth operations.
- Conduct research to identify new initiatives and opportunities to expand revenue and improve estate management practices.
- Manage the company’s land acquisition processes, including market research, feasibility studies, title verification, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Design and execute land inspection programs, assess risks, and provide recommendations for land management and protection.
- Liaise with land sector agencies (e.g., Lands Commission, Office of the Administrator of School Lands) to perfect titles and secure land interests.
- Monitor computation of levies, timely distribution of ground rent bills, and ensure financial integrity of the estate portfolio.
Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s Degree in Land Economy, Estate Management, or a related field.
- Membership of a recognized professional body.
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant working experience, including at least 5 years in a senior management role.
