Position Summary

Degas Africa is seeking a strategic and results-driven Head of Finance to lead the organization’s financial operations in Ghana. The role ensures financial integrity, drives strategic decision-making, and supports sustainable growth by managing accounting, financial planning, risk, compliance, and investor relations.

The Head of Finance will work closely with executive leadership to optimize financial performance, lead a high-performing finance team, and implement robust financial policies and processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, FP&A, and cash flow management.

• Drive strategic financial planning to support business growth and investment decisions.

• Manage local finance operations within a matrix or global organizational structure, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.

• Coordinate cross-border financial activities, including debt financing, investor relations, and reporting to international stakeholders.

• Develop, implement, and optimize financial processes, policies, and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.

• Lead, mentor, and manage the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement.

• Provide actionable insights and analysis to executive leadership to support strategic decisions.

• Ensure risk management frameworks are robust and adhered to across the organization.

• Support organizational change initiatives and drive finance-related transformation projects.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

• CPA, ACCA, or MBA is preferred.

Professional Background

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in progressively senior finance roles.

• Proven experience in FP&A, accounting, risk management, and compliance.

• Strong track record managing local finance operations in a matrix or global organization.

• Experience with debt financing, investor relations, and cross-border financial coordination.

• Demonstrated ability to lead change, optimize processes, and develop policies.
