Role Overview

The Incident Response Analyst plays a critical role in protecting the organization’s digital assets by detecting, analyzing, and responding to security incidents across the enterprise. The role works closely with Security Operations, IT Infrastructure, and Application teams to contain threats, minimize impact, and strengthen Ecobank’s overall security posture.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical expertise, sound judgment under pressure, and a proactive approach to incident management.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor, detect, analyze, and respond to cybersecurity incidents across systems and networks

• Lead and coordinate incident response activities, including containment, eradication, and recovery

• Investigate security alerts, suspicious activities, and system anomalies

• Conduct root cause analysis and document incident reports with clear recommendations

• Collaborate with Security Operations Center (SOC) teams and other IT stakeholders

• Support the development and continuous improvement of incident response playbooks and procedures

• Participate in threat-hunting, forensic analysis, and post-incident reviews

• Ensure incidents are handled in compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices

• Provide technical input to improve system hardening and reduce future risk.

  Qualifications and Educational Requirements

  • 5–7 years of practical and professional experience in one or more of the following areas:

    • Incident Response

    • Security Operations

    • Software Development

    • Application Support

    • Systems Administration

    • Network Design and Implementation

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is desirable

  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques

  • Hands-on experience with incident response tools, log analysis, and monitoring systems

  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments and respond to incidents in a timely manner

  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
