IT OFFICER – SYSTEMS AND DEVELOPMENT

We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled IT Officer – Systems and Development to support our digital infrastructure, strengthen ICT systems, and enhance technology-enabled programme delivery across the Country Programme.

Position Summary

The IT Officer – Systems and Development will maintain and support WaterAid Ghana’s IT infrastructure while driving the digital transformation of programme and operational systems. The role combines hands-on IT support with systems development, ICT4D integration, and data systems strengthening to improve efficiency, connectivity, and service delivery across office and field environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the Country Programme’s IT infrastructure, including networks, devices, and user systems.
  • Provide day-to-day IT support, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Administer Microsoft 365 environments and manage user identity systems.
  • Support device enrollment and management using Microsoft Intune and Autopilot.
  • Configure and manage cloud-based network systems (including Meraki and Ubiquiti dashboards).
  • Implement and maintain secure access controls, bandwidth management, and network policies.
  • Support ICT4D initiatives, including digitization of programme and administrative processes.
  • Collaborate with Programme and Operations teams to strengthen digital data systems and workflows.
  • Support Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) systems and data flow processes from field collection to reporting.
  • Develop technical documentation and user-friendly guides for non-technical staff.
  • Support IT procurement processes, including vendor evaluation and technical input.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of IT systems and digital solutions across the organization.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of a first degree (BSc) or Professional Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of proven experience in IT support, including desktop troubleshooting and network management.
  • Strong experience managing cloud-based network systems such as Meraki and Ubiquiti.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 administration and Microsoft Intune/Autopilot device management.
  • Experience with identity management systems and remote Active Directory environments.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL best practices.
  • Experience working in multi-site or field-based environments with remote connectivity challenges.
  • Exposure to ICT4D tools and principles is required.

Desirable Experience

  • Prior experience in an NGO, development organization, or public sector environment.
  • Familiarity with Monitoring & Evaluation systems and data reporting workflows.
  • Experience with ICT4D tools such as GIS applications, Power BI, DHIS2, or PIMS.
  • Understanding of ICT4D applications in the WASH or development sector.
  • Exposure to IT budgeting, procurement, and vendor management processes.
