Role Overview

Afrokan Hotel seeks a motivated Junior Kitchen Assistant to support daily kitchen operations. You will actively assist in food preparation, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and support chefs to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, and chopping
• Support chefs in basic food preparation and meal plating
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across all kitchen areas
• Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment promptly and properly
• Store food items safely and follow proper kitchen storage procedures
• Follow instructions from senior kitchen staff and contribute to smooth operations
• Assist in receiving and organizing kitchen supplies and inventory
• Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards

Requirements

• HND, Diploma, or Degree in Hospitality, Catering, or a related field
• 2–4 years of experience in a kitchen or food service environment
• Basic understanding of kitchen operations and food hygiene practices
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team
• Strong sense of cleanliness, discipline, and responsibility
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
