ROLE OVERVIEW

The Lawyer (Legal Team Leader) will provide expert legal advice, manage the legal team, and oversee all aspects of corporate, commercial, and regulatory legal matters. The role requires strategic thinking, strong leadership, and a proven ability to manage complex legal issues.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Legal Team Leader will:

• Lead, mentor, and manage the legal team to ensure high-quality legal support

• Provide expert legal advice on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters

• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents

• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies

• Represent the organization in legal proceedings, negotiations, and disputes

• Develop and implement legal strategies to mitigate risks

• Monitor changes in laws and regulations affecting the organization

• Support senior management in strategic decision-making and risk management

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must:

• Be a qualified lawyer with a solid post-call track record

• Hold postgraduate qualifications from recognized tertiary institutions

• Possess 5–8 years of relevant working experience

• Demonstrate strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills

• Exhibit excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities

• Be able to work independently and guide the legal team effectively
