We are now seeking a highly skilled Lead Planner to strengthen our project planning and execution capability.
Role Purpose
You will lead and coordinate advanced project planning and scheduling activities across operational and project teams. You will ensure accurate forecasting, efficient resource planning, and robust execution strategies that support safe and successful project delivery.
You will also refine planning systems, analyze complex data flows, and develop innovative scheduling solutions that improve performance and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Lead project planning, scheduling, and coordination activities across assigned projects
- Develop, maintain, and optimize project schedules using advanced scheduling tools and techniques
- Perform critical path analysis, risk assessments, and scenario modelling to support decision-making
- Refine existing planning systems and contribute to the development of improved planning frameworks
- Analyse system trends and integrate data from real-time operational activities
- Identify dependencies, constraints, and system-wide impacts within project environments
- Test and validate planning assumptions using structured “if-then” scenario modelling
- Distinguish between systemic and special causes in planning variances and delays
- Support cross-functional teams to align planning activities with operational objectives
- Provide technical guidance and leadership to planning and project coordination teams
Technical Skills
You will demonstrate:
- Advanced expertise in project scheduling, critical path analysis, and risk management
- Strong proficiency in planning and scheduling software and tools
- Ability to design and execute structured planning processes to achieve business outcomes
- High-level capability in strategic planning and project forecasting
- Experience supporting, coordinating, and leading cross-functional teams
- Ability to analyze complex project systems and improve planning efficiency
Experience and Qualifications
You bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Project Management, Engineering, or a related field
- At least 7 years of experience in project execution, delivery, and coordination
- A minimum of 5 years in a supervisory or lead capacity
- Strong experience in planning systems development and refinement
- Proven ability to interpret data trends and apply system-thinking approaches to planning
- Experience working with advanced scheduling tools and project management systems
