Job Summary
The Legal Services Officer actively provides legal advisory and consulting services to in-house clients, ensuring compliance, mitigating risks, and supporting strategic business objectives. The successful candidate combines technical expertise with sharp analytical skills to resolve complex legal and business challenges efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Provide legal advisory and consulting services to in-house clients on corporate, civil, and criminal matters
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and procurement documents
Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements
Conduct legal research and provide recommendations on complex issues
Support dispute resolution, litigation, and risk management activities
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide timely and practical legal guidance
Contribute to policy development and implementation of legal frameworks within the organization
Maintain confidentiality and uphold high ethical and professional standards
Requirements
Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) with minimum five (5) years post-graduate experience
Professional Law Certificate with minimum three (3) years post-call experience
Reasonable experience in civil and criminal legal practice
Experience in the Oil & Gas industry is an advantage
Strong technical legal skills and intellectual rigor to resolve complex issues
Knowledge of procurement and contracting processes
Excellent negotiating, drafting, and research skills
Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail
Ability to focus on critical tasks that add value to the organization
