We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Maintenance Mechanical Supervisor to join our team in Obuasi and lead mechanical maintenance operations to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant performance.

Role Purpose

The Maintenance Mechanical Supervisor will oversee all mechanical maintenance activities, ensuring equipment reliability, optimal performance, and strict adherence to safety standards. The role provides technical leadership, supervises maintenance teams, and ensures maintenance strategies are effectively executed to support uninterrupted operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all mechanical maintenance activities across assigned plant and equipment.
• Lead preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and availability.
• Assign daily tasks to maintenance technicians and ensure timely execution of maintenance schedules.
• Inspect mechanical systems, identify faults, and implement effective corrective actions.
• Oversee installation, alignment, commissioning, and overhaul of mechanical equipment.
• Ensure proper maintenance of pumps, conveyors, compressors, motors, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, and related equipment.
• Enforce strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
• Review maintenance work orders, reports, and equipment performance data for continuous improvement.
• Support shutdown planning and execution activities to minimize operational downtime.
• Mentor, coach, and develop mechanical maintenance staff to build technical capability within the team.
• Liaise with engineering, operations, and planning teams to ensure maintenance alignment with production goals.
• Monitor spare parts usage and support inventory control to ensure equipment readiness.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reduce maintenance costs.

Qualifications & Experience

Educational Qualifications

• Diploma, HND, or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Maintenance, or a related discipline.
• Professional or technical certification in mechanical maintenance or engineering will be an added advantage.

Experience

• Minimum of 5–8 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance within mining, industrial, or heavy engineering environments.
• At least 2–3 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Strong experience in maintaining heavy-duty mechanical systems and rotating equipment.
