We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Maintenance Planner to join our team in Obuasi and support the effective planning and scheduling of maintenance activities to ensure optimal equipment reliability and operational efficiency.

Role Purpose

The Maintenance Planner will develop, coordinate, and optimize maintenance plans and schedules to ensure efficient execution of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities. The role ensures resources, materials, and downtime are effectively planned to maximize equipment availability and minimize operational disruptions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed maintenance plans and schedules for mechanical and plant equipment.
• Coordinate preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities in alignment with operational requirements.
• Prepare and issue weekly, monthly, and shutdown maintenance schedules.
• Ensure availability of materials, spare parts, tools, and resources required for planned maintenance tasks.
• Review work requests and convert them into well-defined job plans with clear scope, labor, and material requirements.
• Monitor maintenance execution and adjust plans to reflect operational priorities and equipment condition.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, planning data, and equipment history in the maintenance management system.
• Collaborate closely with maintenance supervisors, engineers, and operations teams to optimize equipment uptime.
• Support shutdown and turnaround planning, coordination, and execution.
• Analyze maintenance performance data to identify trends and improve planning efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards in all maintenance planning activities.
• Continuously improve maintenance planning processes to enhance productivity and reduce downtime.

Qualifications & Experience

Educational Qualifications

• Diploma, HND, or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Certification in Maintenance Planning, CMMS systems, or related technical training will be an advantage.

Experience

• Minimum of 3–6 years of experience in maintenance planning within mining, industrial, manufacturing, or heavy engineering environments.
• Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of maintenance workflows, shutdown planning, and asset management principles.
