Role Overview

The Manager – Supply Chain (Procurement & Contracts) provides strategic and operational leadership for procurement, contracts management, warehousing, and supply chain activities. This role ensures cost-effective sourcing, compliance with regulatory and corporate standards, and reliable supply of goods and services to support mining and corporate operations. The role requires strong leadership, commercial acumen, and extensive experience within mining, heavy industry, or large-scale logistics environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all procurement, contracts, warehousing, and supply chain functions in line with Asanko Gold Ghana’s strategic objectives.

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies that improve efficiency, cost control, supplier performance, and risk management.

  • Oversee sourcing, tendering, negotiation, and contract award processes to ensure transparency, value for money, and compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

  • Manage supplier relationships, contract performance, and dispute resolution to ensure continuity of supply and service quality.

  • Ensure effective contract administration, including compliance monitoring, variation management, and renewal processes.

  • Direct warehousing and inventory management activities to optimize stock levels, minimize losses, and support operational requirements.

  • Collaborate closely with operations, engineering, finance, and legal teams to align supply chain activities with business needs.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing supply chain team, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

  • Prepare and present management reports on procurement performance, contract status, cost savings, and key supply chain metrics.

  • Ensure adherence to ethical sourcing standards, sustainability objectives, and local content requirements.

    Educational Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field.

    • MBA or postgraduate qualification is a strong advantage.

    • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in procurement, warehousing, contracts, or supply chain management, preferably within mining, heavy industry, or large-scale logistics environments.

    • At least 3 years’ experience in a senior managerial or leadership role, with responsibility for teams and strategic decision-making.

    • Proven experience managing high-value contracts and complex supplier relationships.
