Role Overview
The Managing Director – FMCG Distribution provides strategic leadership for the company’s distribution operations, ensuring sustainable growth, profitability, and operational excellence. The role requires a results-driven leader who can inspire teams, manage stakeholder relationships, optimize distribution networks, and implement innovative strategies to expand market share.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute the company’s strategic plans for FMCG distribution to achieve growth, profitability, and operational objectives.
Lead, mentor, and inspire senior management and operational teams to ensure high performance.
Oversee supply chain, logistics, and distribution operations to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, suppliers, and business partners.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to identify growth opportunities.
Drive commercial initiatives, revenue growth, and market expansion strategies.
Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and company policies across all operations.
Develop budgets, performance metrics, and operational reports for the Board and stakeholders.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and innovative organizational culture that aligns with Olam Agri Africa’s values.
Educational Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Finance, Agriculture, or a related field.
A Master’s degree or MBA is highly desirable.
Minimum 10–15 years of professional experience in FMCG distribution, supply chain, or commercial leadership roles.
Proven track record of leading large teams, managing P&L, and delivering business growth.
Strong knowledge of distribution networks, logistics management, and FMCG market dynamics in Africa.
